# Can I get raw original Garmin FIT files?

Yes. With FIT as your processing format, Terra delivers the original FIT file Garmin sent.

**Yes.** Set FIT as your processing format and Terra delivers the **original activity FIT file exactly as Garmin sent it**, not a re-encoded copy. Each activity payload is a small JSON message with a download link to the file.

* If the original file isn't available for an activity, Terra builds a FIT file from its unified data model instead.
* FIT format applies to activity data only. Other data types stay JSON.
* A project uses one processing format, so you can't receive standard JSON activities and FIT files side by side.
