The calorie time series tracks active burn only, while total_burned_calories is the whole-day figure including BMR (resting calories). The series never climbs to the total; that gap is expected.
The daily summary fields (
net_activity_calories,BMR_calories,total_burned_calories) are the authoritative end-of-day numbers.For a single all-in figure, use
total_burned_calories.
The series and the summary come from different provider reports and may not match to the exact calorie, and this can differ across providers.
