# Why is a user I stored missing from the dashboard Users list?

The Users list only shows connections that still exist on the environment you have selected, so a stored user ID can be missing from it.

**The Users list only shows connections that still exist on the environment you have selected.** A `user_id` you stored won't appear if there is no connection behind it any more, for example because:

* the user was deauthenticated, by your app or by the provider
* the user reconnected and was given a new user ID
* the connection was made with a different environment's `dev-id`

In those cases there is no data to serve for that ID. Check the environment selector first, then look for the user's current ID by their `reference_id`.

**To find a user, use the filters rather than scrolling.** The list is ordered by most recent connection. Add a **User** filter and paste the Terra user ID, or a **Reference ID** filter with your own ID. Both match the exact value across the whole environment, not only the rows already loaded.
