# Does the Include Samples toggle affect the API too?

The **Include Samples** toggle applies globally, affecting both API responses and webhook payloads. Per-channel sample control is not supported, and there is only one source-to-destination configuration per dev account, so you cannot route the same provider with and without samples to two webhooks.

For requests covering more than 28 days, data is delivered asynchronously to the configured webhook even with `to_webhook=false`. In that case the dashboard samples setting (not the `with_samples` request parameter) controls whether samples are included.

The usual approach is to **enable samples globally and filter on your side**.

If payloads exceed your size limits, contact support to discuss alternative delivery options.
