# Why is Samsung background delivery unsupported?

Android background delivery is limited by **deep-sleep battery optimisation**, which suspends background tasks after a few hours. There is currently no general-availability background-delivery pathway for Samsung Health.

Workarounds:

* Have users exempt the app via **unrestricted battery use** in Android settings.
* Periodic **WorkManager**-based syncs work but aren't guaranteed to run exactly on schedule.

Because Google pushed the Google Fit API deprecation to 2026, the existing Samsung-to-Google-Fit pathway keeps working in the meantime, so plan the migration but there's no forced cutover.
