# What happens to a duplicate ticket I filed?

Duplicate tickets are **closed and merged into the original thread**, so all context and the ongoing investigation stay in one place.

Your earlier ticket remains in the queue and work continues there. **Bumping the original thread** is the fastest way to flag urgency.
