# Why does my Fitbit data look wrong or barely match the Fitbit app?

The most common cause is that a different Fitbit account was connected than the one holding the user's data. Fitbit lets people sign in with Google, so during the connection flow it is easy to authorise the wrong Google or Fitbit account (for example a near-empty one), which then syncs little or mismatched data.

First check the connected account:

* Have the user disconnect Fitbit and reconnect, taking care to sign in with the exact Fitbit or Google account that holds their data.
* Confirm the email on the connected Fitbit account matches the one they use in the Fitbit app.

If the correct account is connected and the numbers still look off, contact support with the user\_id and an example value so we can investigate.
