# Why do Apple body metrics arrive after step changes?

Metrics like VO2 Max, lean body mass, and body fat are delivered in **body payloads, which are sent independently of daily payloads**.

The exact moment they reach your destination depends on how the device OS prioritises the background task pushing data from the SDK to Terra. One data type updating does not necessarily trigger another.
