# Which providers support real-time streaming?

Terra's real-time [Streaming API](https://docs.tryterra.co/streaming-api/getting-started) (Real-Time SDK / TerraRT) **only works with devices that broadcast continuously over BLE or ANT+**, for example certain Polar/Garmin devices, HR monitors, cycling sensors and smartwatches. These stream with sub-second latency.

Cloud-synced providers like Fitbit and WHOOP **never dispatch real-time (op 5) events**. Their data arrives via webhooks through the [Health and Fitness API](https://docs.tryterra.co/health-and-fitness-api/getting-started) after an activity completes.

The compatible-device list is in the [Streaming API supported integrations](https://docs.tryterra.co/reference/streaming-api/supported-integrations) section. Any wearable advertising standard BLE streaming should generally work, but devices outside the list are not guaranteed.

The Streaming API does **not** support:

* Single-measurement medical devices (BP cuffs, glucose meters, scales) or standard medical BLE profiles.
* Syncing historical readings stored locally on a device. It is live-broadcast only.

For live in-activity data, use a BLE-capable device. Otherwise, rely on webhook updates.
