# Which smart scales have the most reliable data flow?

WiFi-connected scales can be unreliable at uploading readings to the provider cloud, especially when users do not open the companion app.

**Bluetooth-connected scales tend to sync more consistently**, because the phone acts as the middleman between scale and cloud.

If users report dropped readings, encourage Bluetooth pairing and periodically opening the provider app.
