# Do I get data events if a device isn't worn?

If a user stops wearing their device, no new data is generated, so **you will not receive data events**.

[Webhooks are only sent when there is data to deliver](https://docs.tryterra.co/health-and-fitness-api/managing-user-health-data/receiving-data-updates). This behaviour is consistent across providers.
