# Why are Huawei heart rate samples once per minute?

Huawei's public Health Kit only exposes the `com.huawei.instantaneous.heart_rate` stream, stored at **roughly one sample per minute**, plus activity-level aggregate stats.

Terra passes this through unchanged. The sparse cadence is upstream, not Terra downsampling, and there is no per-second HR timeseries from Huawei to forward.

For per-second workout HR, the providers that expose it publicly are **Garmin, Polar, COROS, and WHOOP**.
