# Are Google Fit and Health Connect the same provider?

They are **distinct providers**:

* **Google Fit** only picks up data the Google Fit app synced into Health Connect, matching what the Google Fit app shows.
* **Health Connect** returns all data present in Health Connect, regardless of which app wrote it.
