# Does Fitbit retrieve steps once daily or intraday?

Terra uses **Fitbit's intraday step endpoint**, so step data is retrieved multiple times per day (roughly 10-20 times) via Fitbit webhooks rather than once daily.

You receive updates throughout the day as Fitbit pushes new data.
