# Do I need my own developer keys for Dexcom?

Dexcom always uses **your own developer credentials**, never Terra's shared/aggregate keys, and requires a **direct partnership between you and Dexcom**.

If the auth link lands on a **sandbox login page**, your keys only have sandbox access and will not return real user data.

**Apply for production access** in your Dexcom developer dashboard, under your app (the 'apply for production upgrade' option), choosing the access tier that matches your use case (individual, commercial, or research). Whichever tier Dexcom grants, the integration adapts to the corresponding API, so pick purely by use case.

Terra is not part of Dexcom's approval process. See the [Dexcom integration docs](https://docs.tryterra.co/health-and-fitness-api/dexcom).
