# Can SSO users connect a password-based provider?

For providers connected via email and password (for example `Flo`, `Clue`), accounts created with social SSO such as Sign in with Apple or Google sign-in cannot be connected, because these credential-based integrations need the account's own email and password and an SSO account has no password to enter.

This is a known limitation, not a defect. Affected users need to set up direct email-and-password credentials with the provider (on the provider's website) and use those to connect. Guide users to create password-based credentials before linking.
